Summary


Inspector Böhler is vacationing in France when a hotel guest is found dead. The victim turns out to have been a feared Nazi Hauptsturmführer, once responsible for the execution of prisoners. Can Böhler find the killer—even without his trusted team?

  • Inspector Franz Böhler – Gruff, headstrong, a trench coat-wearing “old school” detective in the style of Maigret. Sixty years old. Loves playing Jass at the Metzgerhalle restaurant in Zurich-Oerlikon.

  • Assistant Fridolin “Glarner” Blumer – Cheerful, just under 30, adored by all the female police assistants, zips around on a Vespa.

  • Gloria Meyer – Forensics technician, smart, young, and beautiful. The woman of Fridolin Blumer’s dreams.
